The One-Sentence Pitch

0x307 is building the toll road, the payment terminal, and the identity system for the machine internet — so AI agents can discover, pay for, and use data and services on their own, without a human in every transaction.

The Problem

The world is shifting from human-driven commerce to machine-driven commerce. AI agents are already working 24 hours a day — searching, deciding, and trying to buy data and services on behalf of businesses everywhere.

But the infrastructure to support this doesn't exist yet:

• Payments don't work for machines. Credit cards charge $0.30 minimum per transaction. An AI agent querying a $0.003 data record can't use a credit card.
• Contracts take too long. Annual licensing agreements take 6–18 months to negotiate. An AI agent can't wait 6 months.
• There's no identity standard for agents. When an AI agent tries to access a system, there's no universal way for it to prove who it is, that it has permission, or that it has paid.

The result: Data and services that agents could be buying automatically sit behind contracts and human sales processes instead.

The Solution

0x307 is building the economic infrastructure layer for the machine-to-machine internet. Three pieces make it work:

① The Identity Layer (Aethel ID) — available now
Open-source, post-quantum identity for AI agents and the people who run them, published as Rust crates anyone can use today. An agent gets an identity it can prove without exposing private data. Start with cargo add aethel-sdk and the ten-minute quickstart. See Open-Source Crates.

② The Gateway (8gentz.io) — launching soon
A single entry point for AI agent traffic, like a toll booth. The gateway checks the agent's identity, collects the payment, and keeps a record. Providers register what they offer once; after that, any agent can find it and pay for it automatically. It is designed to speak the 12 major protocols AI agents use to communicate, so an agent built on any platform can transact through it.

③ The Payment Protocol (x402)
x402 is the payment standard that lets AI agents pay in fractions of a cent — automatically, with no human authorization for each call. Payments settle on Base, Coinbase's Layer-2 network.

What This Changes for Data Companies
