This guide is designed to bring any stakeholder — regardless of technical background — to a working understanding of agentic commerce, the 0x307 platform, and how to talk about it confidently with customers, partners, and colleagues.

The Core Concept
The world is shifting from human-driven commerce to machine-driven commerce. AI agents are already buying, selling, and exchanging data autonomously — but the infrastructure to do this safely, fairly, and profitably doesn't exist yet. 0x307 built it.
The three problems 0x307 solves:

Payments don't work for machines. Credit cards charge $0.30 minimum per transaction. An AI agent querying a $0.003 data record can't use a credit card. 0x307's x402 protocol enables transactions as small as a fraction of a cent.

The Four Pillars
The Tollbooth (8gentz.io): The gateway through which all AI agent transactions flow. Every agent that wants to access data passes through the Tollbooth. It checks identity, collects payment, records the transaction, and routes the request.
The Vault (therq.io): The system that turns raw data into governed data products. Every record gets a "birth certificate" — provenance documentation, quality scores, and terms of use. Raw data becomes a tradeable asset.
The Factory: The agentic data acquisition system that replaces manual engineering teams. AI agents collect data automatically, adapt when sources change, and track every action at the individual record level.
The Moat: The security and compliance infrastructure. Post-quantum cryptography, immutable audit trails, and regulatory compliance documentation built into every transaction.
How x402 Works (Plain English)
- An AI agent sends a request to the 0x307 gateway: "I need a criminal record for John Smith, DOB 1985-03-15."
- The gateway responds: "This costs $1.00. Here is a payment request."
- The agent's digital wallet automatically approves and sends the payment.
- The payment settles instantly on the Autheo blockchain.
- The gateway delivers the data record.
- An immutable audit receipt is created: what was queried, when, by whom, for what price.
Total time: under 1 second. No human involved. No contract. No invoice.

Agentic Commerce: The buying and selling of data, services, and compute by autonomous AI agents — without human involvement in individual transactions.
AI Agent: A software program that can take actions autonomously — searching, deciding, and transacting without a human directing each step.
x402 Protocol: The payment standard that enables AI agents to pay for data in fractions of a cent, instantly, with no human authorization required. Named after the HTTP 402 "Payment Required" status code.
MCP (Model Context Protocol): Anthropic's standard for how AI agents use tools and access external data. One of the 12 protocols supported by 0x307.
A2A (Agent-to-Agent Protocol): Google's standard for direct communication between AI agents.

Data-RWA (Data Real-World Asset): A tokenized data product — a data record or collection packaged with provenance documentation, quality scores, and terms of use.
DEC (Data Exchange Covenant): The smart contract embedded in a data product that specifies permitted uses, accuracy SLAs, and retention limits. Automatically enforced by the gateway.
DXZ (Digital Exchange Zone): The marketplace where tokenized data products are listed, discovered, and traded.
Provenance Documentation: The complete record of a data record's origin, processing history, and quality validation. The "birth certificate" for data.
Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC): Cryptographic standards designed to remain secure against quantum computers. 0x307 uses NIST FIPS 203/204/205/206.
NIST FIPS 203/204/205/206: The US government's post-quantum cryptography standards. Required for all federal systems by 2030.
Autheo: The Layer-0 blockchain on which 0x307 anchors its audit receipts. Every transaction generates an immutable record on Autheo.
AutheoAuditReceipt: The cryptographically signed, immutable record of a transaction — what data was accessed, when, by whom, and for what price.
Microtransaction: A payment too small for traditional payment systems — typically less than $0.10. x402 enables microtransactions as small as $0.000001.
µUSDC (micro-USDC): The unit of currency for x402 microtransactions. 1 µUSDC = $0.000001.
EIP-3009: The Ethereum standard for HTTP-native payments that underlies x402.
SAGP (Sovereign Agentic Gateway Protocol): The core protocol of the 8gentz.io gateway — the technical standard that governs how AI agents authenticate, pay, and receive data.
Scout Swarm: The 0x307 system that automatically discovers AI agents and data providers on the internet and registers them with the gateway.

Data Quality Score: A standardized measure of a data record's accuracy, completeness, and recency. Assigned automatically by the Vault.
